Small Beginning is going Green!

We believe that finding ways to save our planet is a worthwhile cause for children. If we can educate our young children, we can change the way that people think about our natural resources and the world that we all live in and share. We, as adult role models, need to do things as well to show that we can make a difference. Look at some of our ideas and causes:

• We use recycled paper for all of classroom needs.
• We use dishes that can be washed instead of disposable plates.
• We teach children to turn off the water while they are soaping their hands.
• We recycle aluminum cans from soda machines.
• We have a parent “green board” for helpful hints to parents.
• We teach children that we repair broken toys and books whenever possible.
• We collect trash from the building in one or two bags so that liners are not replaced daily.
• We have recycling books that are read on a regular basis to the children.
• We have children help keep playgrounds clean of all paper products.
• Classrooms collect cutting scraps for yet another art project.

As you can see, small steps lead to large steps in any new effort. We believe that we are preparing future leader in many ways; social responsibility is just one them.
